Maui: Where to Eat and What to Do - Recipe Girl (1)

I recently went to the island of Maui in Hawaii with my family. We wanted to eat at the best places and experience some fun things, so I did a ton of research before our trip and used those recommendations the entire time we were there. I’m sharing that information with you… I think you’ll find that it will help tremendously as you’re driving around the island! If you see something that interests you, I recommend that you give it a quick once-overon Yelp to read other people’s reviews before you choose something. We stayed in Kaanapali, but I’ve included recommendations for all parts of the island for you:

EAST MAUI: HANA: if you are doing road to Hana, definitely get the GPS app for your smart phone Gypsy guide Full Maui tour is 10 bucks -but sooooo worth it -it Bluetooth’s your phone to rental car stereo and gives you an amazing and great guided tour not only for Hana but the entire island

  • WHERE TO EAT: Troy’s BBQ at Koki Beach Park (look for a small hut… and he’s only open one or two days/week- We were told to check grocery store fliers for his current hours. Food is great, so get there early as he sells out), also look for fresh fruit stands and banana bread stands. It’s probably best to bring some things to eat in caseyou’re not successful in finding an open spot to eat.
  • WHAT TO DO: Pools of Ohe’o (aka Seven Sacred Pools- beautiful waterfalls and pools… a popular attraction on Maui), Twin Falls (easy, stroller-friendly waterfall hike), Four Falls of Na’ili’ili (hike that involves some tricky climbing), Jaws Surf Break (good place to view huge waves, if they’re happening), Pu’a Ka’a Park (picnic spot with waterfalls).
