Do peace candles stack? ›

Multiple Candles will not stack with each other, even if one is placed and the other held. Peace Candles can only be placed on platforms and flat furniture items like Work Benches and Tables.

The Peace Candle reduces spawn rates by 23% in the area and decreases the maximum number of simultaneous on-screen enemies by 30%, in contrast to the Water Candle. The Shadow Candle(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) nullifies the enemy spawn reduction benefits of towns in the area.

Use of a Water Candle and/or a Battle Potion will increase spawn rates. Contrarily, a Peace Candle, Calming Potion, and Sunflower will reduce spawn rates. Invasions are not affected by these items, but Blood Moons and Solar Eclipses are.

Yes, water candles in your hand will stack with ones placed around you. Having more than one placed won't have any additional effect beyond increasing the range, though.

The Calming Potion buff will stack with the buff provided by Peace Candles and the Happy! buff from Sunflowers, further reducing enemy spawn rates. The Battle Potion has the opposite effect.

The Shadow Candle is a furniture item that can be placed or held to nullify the enemy spawn reduction benefits of towns in the area. When placed, it grants nearby players the Shadow Candle debuff.

With some exceptions, biome Torches give good luck in their own biome, while giving a luck penalty in any other location. Ordinary Torches give a penalty anywhere that a biome Torch would be available, and especially the Snow biome. Bone Torches give a bonus in biomes without their own biome Torch (and also the Ocean).

The Water Candle is a furniture item that can be placed or held to increase enemy and critter spawn rates in the area, and emits a low amount of light. When placed, it gives nearby players the Water Candle debuff. Holding a Water Candle does not cause the debuff icon to display, but still causes an identical effect.

The default max spawns is 5.

The Blood Moon's effects on enemy spawn rates stack with that of the Water Candle and Battle Potion. A Blood Moon only affects spawn rates above the surface. Spawn rates below the surface remain the same. Whether or not a Blood Moon will occur is determined at dusk each night.

Do NPCs decrease spawn rate Terraria? ›

NPCs can reduce enemy spawn rates in the area, the effectiveness of which will increase as more NPCs are present, capped at 3 NPCs. However, this enemy spawn reduction effect will be weaker in the Underworld, and is negated in some circ*mstances (see Town § Notes for details).

Ambrosia is a consumable item which permanently increases the player's mining, tile, and wall placement speed by 5%. It can only be used once per character, but multiple copies can be obtained.

Each player is limited to 44(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) / 22 / 10 active buffs and debuffs at a time, and exceeding that will cancel buffs (but not debuffs) from the left of the bar.

Notes. Mobile version, the effect of a placed Water Candle will stack with that of a held Water Candle. The Water Candle can be placed underwater, but it cannot be held underwater.
