The Jade and Garnet Statues is an Encounter that can spawn within the Abandoned City and Original Realm with a guaranteed chance of dropping the portal to the Mountain Temple. It also has a rare chance of dropping the Kageboshi and Hama Yumi.
The Realm Eye says: |
---|
To prevent wanderers from trespassing into their sanctum, Daichi’s clan excavated their mountain to mine precious minerals. Jade and garnet, gems believed to be sacred by the monks, were abundant throughout the mountain’s maw. With the aid of Xil’s demonic powers, the minerals were molded into two guardians to protect the temple’s gates. |

Behavior
Both statues are found in their own, shrine-like setpiece. When approached, they will begin to randomly cycle through the following attacks.
- Chasing the nearest player while rapidly firing single Temple Bolts.
- Firing spreads of Temple Bolts at the nearest player while chasing them.
- Freezing in place and firing rings of Temple Missiles that inflict Pet Stasis.
- Staying still and flashing cyan for 2.5 seconds before rapidly dashing at the nearest player while firing radial bursts of Temple Waves that slow. Note that Jade’s version is slightly less damaging. This attack is very dangerous: watch out for the warning beforehand.
- Freezing in place and tossing a yellow grenade that spawns two Corrupted Sprites or Corrupted Spirits, depending on the statue.
In between attacks, they will flash white and gain invulnerability.
When one dies, the other will grow larger and heal itself for about 37500 HP. After that, the surviving statue’s attacks become more dangerous.
- Their Temple Missile attack now fires 3 rings at a time instead of one.
In addition, the survivor gains two new attacks:
- Chasing players while firing extremely wide spreads of Temple Bolts which also fire a heavily damaging Temple Trident in the center of the spread.
- Becoming stationary and firing numerous rings of Temple Spinners. Depending on which statue the survivor is, this attack will inflict different status effects, with the Garnet Statue inflicting Weaken and the Jade Statue inflicting Unstable.
Once both statues have been destroyed, after a short delay Oryx will announce their deaths. A portal to the Mountain Temple will appear in the center of their shrine.

Tips and Strategies
- Their most dangerous attack is by far their dash. While usually moving at a conservative pace, both statues are capable of terrifying bursts of speed. If the boss gets on top of you, it’s instant death . When they start to flash light blue, back away. You will only have a window of 2.5 seconds to do so, as their dash attack moves extremely fast, and is very lethal; it has killed many 8/8 melees who thought they could tank it.
- When approaching the statues, do not run towards them in a straight line. Move towards them in a zig-zag pattern, as the dash attack can target you even if you have no vision of them. Also, do not stand still during the fight. This also makes you less vulnerable to their other attacks, which you shouldn’t underestimate.
- On a similar note, beware if you want to teleport to someone who is fighting them. A misplaced teleport can result in one of the Statues jumping and killing you, though you at least have a few seconds of invulnerability.
- Slowing the Statues helps immensely, as their dash attacks will no longer cover as much distance.
- Focus one statue at a time: the other one will just heal off most of the damage done when its partner is killed. If you’re with a small group, you can seperate the statues take on them one at a time.
- Note that the surviving statue gets a lot more dangerous when the other one is killed. Exercise more caution when there is only 1 left.
- Take out their minions quick, as the barrage of armor-piercing Pet Stasis shots can quickly whittle down your health bar.

History
During MOTMG 2020, the sprites for Jade and Garnet Statues changed to fit the Reconstruction theme. However, unlike most reskinned event bosses, the name didn’t change.
Before Exalt Version 3.0.0.0 (Aug 2022), both statues dropped the Kageboshi.
